Don't paint. I've kept my boat in saltwater three or four months a year for 10 years and I've never painted it. What I do is have it cleaned twice a month instead of once and my gel coat still is in good shape. By not letting growth built up at all, the fiberglass isn't munched. I've been doing this for years on the advice of a San Diego bottom cleaner (of course it doubled his work). It's the trend of the future. Frequent cleaning really is a good option, especially if you leave your boat on a trailer much of the year. Bob
