Mark, The R can do very well against those boats when sailed competitively. The equation that will make the difference is of course helmsman/crew ability. I suspect with the assymetrical, you will be able to have initial acceleration off-wind which symmetric kites wont have. A lot will depend on the angle. If it's DDW, go for speed and do the jybing thing. In any event, even with an inexperienced crew, you'll have fun and won't be embarrassed. The R shares the same hull with the 23D, 2023's but that's where the similarity ends. You should be able to smoke the 23D.
