However, I expect to keep it in place at least through this season. I have retained the cut out, which I cstarted cutting from the circle 'edge'... hence, it's a solid piece yet. Keeping it for eventual closure. As for the deck plate breaking while crossing Lake Michigan, say, 40 miles out??,.... guess I better have that damage control plug easily at hand, eh? Either that, or a crew member with a really large arse, LOL's!
There's been talk in the past on this site as to whether the plate would hold up to some really decent hull pounding (without breaking). Well, I'll be able to answer definatively on this later this summer (I hope). Greater concern is it leaking while on the mooring. You know, I'm not at the boat for 3-4 days? Well, we'll give Beckson's a quality assurance test.
Seth, a day or two back, you wrote on this site "I see the gap now" or some such. I couldn't read it, as this site had tech difficulties. They then erased the message. What was it you were saying about that gap?
