Main will be 'pulled back'.

I cannot recall the specific occurences, but I know that there are times in the past that this has occured to me. When solo, I believe it was/is as simple as grabbing the luff right at the batten, pulling (actually pushing, as I'm forward of the mast at the handle) the luff/batten aft with one hand, while cranking with the other.

With another aboard (cockpit) I, or they, simply grab the roach and pull, which correspondingly pulls the luff/batten aft, away from the mast.

Hope this helps?
