In Response To: How far up are you reefing? New reef point? (link) (Paul Germain, 2023 C)

It's 44" up from the foot and 18" below the lower batten. The sail is from Elliot Patterson. I haven't had them up yet, haven't had the boat out yet. It's been a cold wet spring. I get my sailing fix in on my son's Ensign, we race every Wednesday. If I remember it was $68 to get it put in. I would think a sailmaker would put one in an existing sail for about the same. I went with one to see if it would be sufficient. Does your mast still have the prefeeder attached for the main? I found that makes it really tough to roll in a reef. Try not using it and reefing on a good day.

As for the new sails, I was just looking around and saw the sails on Elliot's web site, really cheep. So I called and a person had ordered them for a standard rig and his turned out to be a tall rig so they were "in stock" on clearance. My luck usually doesn't run that way. Bob
