I did send a message to Schock via e-mail with a link to this thread the day is started, but no reply yet.
Current ideas:
1) take all the tension off 2) grind off the old tabs and inspect for signs of water intrusion through the chain plate 3) fashion a block of hardwood (at least 1" thick mahogany, or oak if I can't find anything else) that will fit on the shelf side of the rib, below the chain plate. 4) epoxy the block of wood to the rib and tab it to the hull 5) if after inspection it seems desirable, attach a turnbuckle between the new block and the chain plate and draw the deck back down 6) retab the ribs and the new block to the deck with glass and epoxy 7) remove the turnbuckle 8) fashion and epoxy a strip of hardwood from the bottom of the chain plate to cover the the new block of wood and ends flush with the shelf front 9) fit a stainless steel tang that catches at least two bolts of the chain plate, lays on top of the strip of wood, and is lag bolted into the block of wood; this will to transfer load directly from the chain plate to the hull through the block/rib 10) cosmetically finish the gel coat on the underside of the deck and inside of the hull
What do you think?
