Posted By: George E Norkus, Santana 2023A, SE Michigan Date: 7/7/08 4:19p.m. Report: outside forum guidelines In Response To: Main reefing on S21 (David / S21 "God's Gift") If the wind is very high, I either hook up the topping lift or not, (I can't remember which way because it's been so long ago that I needed to reef. Try both and see yourself.) That lets me roll the main on the boom without it creaping forward. In lighter winds when I just roll up the entire main. I often, not always though, drop the entire main or most of it, on the deck and wind it back up on the boom. For preventions of having the sail going every-which-way, you don't drop it on the deck in high winds. Well, maybe you could a little bit or so. Sea you, George E. Norkus
