2023r - Centerboard leak

Report: outside forum guidelines

I have Richards 2023r. He has been attempting to remedy a leak in the centerboard lifting cable mechanism.

After two weeks in a wet rear berth, I am ready to revisit. I don't think there was a resolution to this type of fitting.

What is not shown is a 4/1 block that is just above the picture that is less than 2 inches off the brass fitting when the centerboard is deployed.

PO thoughts where to extend the brass tube to above the water line. This may not allow the cb to fully extend with the wire crimp hitting the top fitting.

Options: 1) remove the tackle and man up! (my crew is a pair of 10's and a 14) 2) extend the tube and hope the cb is deployed enough. 3) allow it to sink and claim the insurance money 4) others
