There is not ratchet, just two, 2 wheel blocks. AT full extension, they are just above the top nut. I don't know how heavy the cb is, perhaps 50#. I would like to retain the block, maybe use smaller tackle. The pic is the floor behind the step pole.
I though of a container glued to the floor, but the water would stay in the container and not have anywhere to go. Some salt, 95% fresh, realy nasty in a day or so.
I have some packing that I stuffed in there from the PO. It did stop the leak for a while, but after lifting the board a few times, the drip was back.
I will not be having a bunch of 10 day trips in this boat, but even 2 days on the water makes for a wet bed and sails stored in the back.
