My assumption was it was a home mod done by a PO earlier than you. As I've stated before on many a different post, I have absolutely NO PROBLEM confessing my ignorance on some matters (in which I have the ignorance), and often jump in with questions that may appear silly. One belief that I picked up as a kid in the service, is that "There's no such thing as a stupid question, except the one that goes un-asked!" Of course, I could only wish in this case that I had also remembered what the word 'assume' means. Until a couple of days ago, in which I saw Bob's awesome 'C' model, I had never seen another Santana. Having never seen an 'R' model... well, you get the point, and can probably understand why I wrongfully assumed this was not a factory design. I read a previous post about some PO must have cut it out, and having it professionally filled in... hence, I ASS-umed that post to be correct, hence, in turn, making myself sound an ass. Rich, I well recall you helping me out with a problem, and advise, a couple of years ago! Was grateful then, and grateful now. Please don't get your knickers twisted into a knot over this, as I assure you that I would never intentionally offer even a SUGGESTION of an insult to anyone! You're a great guy, and I don't mind saying this on a public forum. Fair winds, Gary
