In Response To: It was a record!! (Bob Frak Marquette Mi 2023C)

It was in the seventies, but don't know exactly where... probably 73, 74, something like that. Highest temp ever recorded in some 200 years or so, since 'white man' hit these here parts. Who knows, might have been warmest day in a millenium. Yes, winds were weird here, too. Was what I refer to as 'fractured' air. Don't know why I call it that... just something that I came up with yesrs ago for lack of a solid, nautical term for it (like all fukked up air, lol's). In fact, I had one of the sailing instructor's for the area out there with me, and we discussed the oddity of the wind, with me explaining to him (trying to) about how I view it as this weird 'fractured' sort of thing. Crazy shifts, wind 'splinters' going different directions like a 'kalidoscope' (sp?) of varying wind flows. Dude started laughing, stated he actually completely understood (in the weird sense) exactly what it was I meant by fractured. At one time, we had multiple boats, pointing all points of the compass, yet all were close reaching in this little 1/2 mile circle. Still, a most delightful sail outing (even when the 'perfect' tack... spot on, no slop, meant crossing something like 110 degrees of the compass. Obviously, the wind was shifting as we were tacking, but still... pretty damned weird. But, Bob... that's the second time in about 10 days this has happened, BOTH times when the wind was (mostly) coming from the SW.

Mayhaps it's the winds from the rest of the compass points objecting to the 'warmer' SW air, hence attacking it from every direction? Lord, I must be more tired than I thought (lot's of mega-fresh air), as that made absolutely no damned sense.

Oh, well. Whatever. Bye.
