Rachel; Here's a shot below decks. We modified the layout during first ownership ('80's). The Polaris came originally with a folding table between the two setee/bunks, and a small storage bin on each side. The present "pigeon-hole" unit provides lots of storage for all that small stuff, and below the seats, there is room for more " bigger stuff". The port side bunk pulls out to make a cozy birth for two. We prefer to not sleep in V-birth, so as to leave access to the head during the night if req'd. During this re-build, we opted to remove the old head & holding tank system, and replaced them with a portable unit. This was done mainly because of the lack of pump-out facilities where she's going to be sailed in the immediate future. The head's water intake seacock remains, so it would be an easy matter to retrofit a modern holding tank system if the need arose. This pic is several months old as I see the mahogany cabin sole has not been screwed down yet! Also missing is the VHF radio, and the (car)stereo system in the starboard wall unit. All wiring was replaced, and fuse panel intalled. Master battery switch (off-1-both-2) and battery monitoring panel also added.
Bill.
P.S. We named our little "Zodiac"........"DEE-DEE", so that when we're towing it, the names that appear at the stern combine to read : CHICKADEE DEE DEE......just like the call of the little bird. Dumb huh?
