my mother and i have a sailmaster 22 built in 1964 that we bought at an an estate sale. it has 4 bunks, a head, a new 4 stroke yamaha motor (and a big handicap in our racing association). we love it, but everytime we go out some adventurous mishap occurs. any tips on making the rudder more responsive? how can we make the boat point higher? my 71 year old mother is obsessed with this boat and even though she is an amazon, she doesn't have anyone to sail with her or fix her boat problems. should i persuade her to sell the boat, or convince her to get a boat boy? is there such a thing?
