Rachel, Below is an exterior view of the Instantilt well without the doors attached. The bulkhead at the front of the opening is where the outboard is attached. When not in use, the motor pulls up inside the hull and the doors are pulled closed. The Kestrel well was made expressly for a 9.5 HP OMC/Johnson/Evinrude because the powerhead was so compact. However, I have heard that others fit also. Lee has a set of full-size doors that he is putting back on his Kestrel. The previous owner butchered my Instantilt well to put a bigger motor in it, Unfortuneately,the motor was too big to fit in the hull so he cut my doors shorter so they could be closed when the motor was down. Grrrrrr
