In Response To: Instantilt Well (pic) (Jim Blessing)

Rachel, I went by at lunch and took a shot of the Instatilt well from the cockpit. As you can see, the upper edge of the well and cover was butchered to allow the larger motor to fit. The net result was the the entire aft deck rotted out and I am in the process of replacing it with a foam core from underneath. My mission was to learn how to work on boats with this one...I just did not realize how successful I was going to be with that goal

PS: The areas outboard of the well are shaped to exactly hold 2 of the old 6 gallon Evinrude gas tanks with storage to spare aft of them. I am thinking you could motor this boat for 14 to 16 plus hours thus making the 80 mile trip from Miami to the Bahamas doable even in a light wind
