we'd lose the rig, but otherwise I'd not worry- PROVIDED the large ports were covered with storm covers. Tehani carries 2300 pounds of cast iron on her keel- that would certainly bring her back upright in either a knock down- which isn't all THAT uncommon, or a rollover. The 7 foot beam also would contribute to that. The Meridian numbers closely match with the Folkboat, the Pearson Ariel and the Contessa 26-all proven offshore performers by the way
On the Meridians the cockpit lockers are totally sealed off from the main cabin- there is a water tight bulkhead between the lockers and the cabin. The locker lids must be dogged down however and ours have a latchable dog on each one- when offshore we latch them closed.

I'm not at all familiar with the 29 so I can't comment on that specific boat.
