hold me, Charlie. But it certainly sated my longstanding desire for a peak under the hatch of your beautiful little Meridian. Thanks for the gracious tour.
It's even more extraordinary than I'd thought: bright and open while still being warm and welcoming. Incredibly efficient use of the space and yet no lack of amenities. I particularly like that you've left the forward bulkhead open, leaving the v-berth as an extension of the saloon and galley - all of it becoming a compact great room.
I also like your creativity in adapting non-marine components. I'd intended to use a steamer pan myself, but I'd been conventional enough to think I'd install a drain. Really - particularly for my own day and night sailing, and very limited coastal cruising - there's no need for the drain, and its associated through hull, when the sink can be hauled out and dumped.
The storage and dual-use steps are brilliant as well: almost everything below seems to serve several functions without sacrificing either utility or aesthetic appeal. And the ceilings are both light and warm, which is a tough balance. Are they individual strips or board? And what line did you use for alignment?
Now you see: turns out it didn't hold me and I have an almost endless stream of further questions. I'll try to contain myself. Or at least attempt to ration them.
Thanks again, to both you and Laura.
