Thanks! Interesting that there are some wells with the "exit" below the waterline and others where it is above. I'll have to measure some outboards to see what a typical distance is from the upper part of the "U" that contains the clamps to the top of the cowling, and likewise some fore-and-aft powerhead measurements.
I always have a hard time figuring out/visualizing when the space changes in so many planes (like where the counter angles up). Once I was trying to figure out whether I could extend a main settee forward and it absolutely bedeviled me -- between the bottom coming up, the hull sides coming in, and etc. I like to use mock-ups, but it's kind of hard when you'd have to destroy what's there in order to mock up a theoretical improvement.
