Outboards & the Instantilt

This 2 part question is somewhat premature since my Kestrel won't be in the water until next fall, but it has been troubling me as the re-christening draws nearer. For those of you who have the Instantilt feature... First, how do you control the throttle and transmission of the outboard from the cockpit? Do you stick the tiller through the opening in the bulkhead and use the twist grip? How do you get to the shifter? Do you leave the hatch open and reach in or go through the opening in the bulkhead again? This all seems very cumbersome to the uninitiated. Or does everyone have remote contols to the outboard? Second, when you are manuvering into the dock etc, do you leave the motor centered and use the rudder to turn the boat (like a standard inboard) or do you turn the motor to turn the boat (like a standard outboard)? Or do you turn both??? Help this old newbie (oxymoron??) with yet another delima!

Jim
