In Response To: Mast step (Luc Perin)

are probably for wiring (masthead light, etc) You shouldn't need to "bolt down" the mast to the step: the tension on the shrouds will hold it down. The only reason to bolt the mast would be if there is a "tabernacle" (a hinged-plate assembly that allows you to pivot the mast down when you put her on a trailer, or go under a bridge) ~RL
