Bud,
Glad your shoulder is healed and doing well. I separated my shoulder (AC separation type II/III) two years ago. Matter of fact I did it the day after Christmas which was a few days before I went to see the Seaward I ended up purchasing. I got the bump to prove it but no ill effects. Worst part was I did it slipping coming out of my workshop to do a "honey do" so no good ice hockey story etc to show for it.
Things I do away from (or take away from sailing): Tinker on the boat, Work as a civil engineer, serve as a Volunteer Firefighter, wind up helping with anything my kids are involved in, Coach Little League baseball, Cub Scouts den leader, ride my bike (kind with the pedals, not an engine like yours), kayak, fly fish, Play softball, beach volleyball, ice hockey, geocaching (kids and I go treasure hunting with a GPS), Work on my Jeep CJ7 or tinker onother stuff in my workshop, Woodworking, Goto the Outer Banks to fish, Travel in our 25' travel trailer, Host a family camping trip for 10+ families every Memorial Day weekend and in the fall.
Newest addition is sewing. I am redoing all the canvas on the Seaward. First time I have been sewing since home ec. in middle school.
Needless to say, the boat does not get used as much as I would like but the times it does are memorable and knowing it is tied up in the slip ready to go gets me through the day! I either need a 12 step process or need to learn to say no.
Fair winds, Jim
