For non-structural, Bondo is fine

I completed this repair about three years ago using bondo and you can't even tell its there.

Broke a chunk off the keel-wing: This shot after some sanding and prepping

Again, for filler - non structural, I am convinced that bondo does fine - even under the waterline.
