While singlehanding and coming in to a fingerslip bow in, which dock line do you attach first? And where? Is it best to keep the first line on the dock, pick it up and attach somewhere to the boat(this is what I currently do) Or is it better to attach it somewhere on the boat and "snag" a dock cleat?
Need to keep from going too far forward and crashing into the main dock; also need to keep from blowing off the starboard side finger slip and into neighbors boat. I have a right handed prop. Much of what I read on the topic says dock port side to, but my slip is starboard side to. When I had an outboard, I had few troubles - with the inboard diesel, I have lots of trouble. Any advice?
