Dan,
Sounds like you have made up your mind for the S25. Not a bad choice! We have had our 94 S25 for two years now and are very happy with it. As mentioned, the 94's were built by Starboard Yachts during a span that many had mast compression issues. Ours was slight and I just removed the screws and through bolted the bulkheads to the arch. Take a good look at the trailer. The 94's came on a Performance trailer that is beginning to show its age. I replaced all the tires and had the brakes worked on when I bought it. I have since replaced the entire brake system with a new actuator, calipers and brake lines. I also redid the bunks and replaced all the mounts and bolts. I had one shear off on the trip home and luckily it went into the bunk instead of the hull. I also replaced the fenders with diamond plate as the old ones were rusted out. Those old rusty fenders and some chalkiness on the paint and rigging that was at the end of its lifespan is why others passed on buying the boat I purchased and I got it for what I did. If it is in good shape with a decent trailer a 94 S25 is definitely worth it. I wanted a wheel and diesel and looked a a few Catalina 25's before discovering Seawards. Finding this group also convinced me to make the purchase!
