Riveting

Report: outside forum guidelines

I need advise. I'm removing the top and bottom bits from my Z-Spar mast to rewire it. I checked with US Spars as to the type of rivet to use to put things back together again. I was told 3/16 stainless steel for 1/2" thick. No problem, just order a pack from McMaster-Carr for 7.95.

So I have my Arrow pop rivet gun and realize that it's not rated for stainless steel rivets. Looked online and the Stanley hand riveters are expressly stated "not for stainless steel". What riveter is? Will my ten doller Arrow riveter do the job anyway?

TIA Mike
