I had seen the Fox on the catboat forum, and I thought of buying one. I didn't "really" want a catboat, so I just kept looking, and found one in Maryland I liked with an electric motor. I decided not to afford it, though, when I found one at a boat dealer in NC; this dealer is a longtime friend, from whom I had bought the Suncat. I went to see it, and it came with what I needed, and the price was right. The boat shape is what I like, fat, keel, centerboard.
I've been happy with it; nice coaming in the foredeck, and it tacks well. I need to figure out the boarding ladder. I got a free one, but it isn't exactly right.
I had to fix a stupidly installed through-hull that was BELOW THE WATERLINE. I just glassed it over. I can use a bucket for that sink, if I ever need the sink.
So, good boat, old, sturdy, maneuverable, decent sails.
Next thing would be drifter, and then strom jib, because I have about a 120 and the main, and that's it.
Oh, funny about it being a seaward. It's mfg paperwork says Starboard, so that's what the NC Wildlife Commission has it listed as, but it does have Seaward logo on mainsail, and a bronze name-plaque on the cabin side that says Seaward.
