My Seaward story begins with my old Com-Pac 23.
I was preparing to launch at a local lake.....when a group ten kayakers came tooling up to the dock and one shouts out, "that is a good looking Com-Pac, do you mined if my wife and I take a look at her". "Not at all", says I. They look it over...ask a few questions....then says, "would you sale her". This where I should of kept my mouth shut....with a bit of mirth, I said, "I might consider it, for the right price". He said, "and what would that be". I picketed one out of the air, and as it turned out it was just above average retail, and he said, "I will take it if you will hold it for a month". To make a long story less long, they came and got her a month later almost to the day.
I begin looking at Com-Pacs and other boats with traditional lines and came across a Seaward located two hours from our home through sailing Texas ads.
A foot not...the group of Yakers where old friends on a week of camping and exploring. Here is the good part, their ages ranged from med sixties to med to late seventies. The couple that bought "Knot Home", if memory serves me, was 73 at the time. Last I heard, they are doing well and the son has the boat NC.
