Bill asked me what I thought the "tube" might be. given the location and the problem, I assumed that was what it was. anyone that would like the pic can email me bayoubrez@yahoo and I will send it to them. to the other Dan, excellent idea on jack. seem to me you could easily embed some sort of bracket into the floor to adjust the post once it is seated. easy being a relative term of course!
