Ultimately, in the case of my boat, the bulkhead did it's job for almost 20 years now and is just starting to show signs of fatigue. If there was a relatively easy way to bulk this up or reinforce it, that is the route I'd prefer. Unfortunately my fabrication skills are a bit lacking.
