were not smoking this right !!!!!!!!! ha well if you have reef points 1 2 3 or 4 on your main sail you would lower the sail and find whith one suits the weather,I nthe case that you don't have reef points or a reefing boom there are several ways this can be done even rolling an oar or wisker pone and tie or secure your wad of sail to the boom so as in a good blow it will mot come apart and harm you others or your craft hope I helped Donna happy sailing and all that david
