John & I were discussing the future of SC message boards. We agreed to contact the folks at Trailer Sailor about adding us. I contacted SailboatOwners.com about exploring options for a South Coast Message board. They are the folks that host the TS. Phil set up the message board at SailboatOwners.com before I even had a chance to discuss things with him. Family Sailor aka John wanted our message board to piggyback on Trailer Sailor. Lots of good reasons for doing so. Phil at SailboatOwners.com has been most accomodating. My thanks to him. There would be less confusion if Phil would shut down the site at SailboatOwners.com I feel it would also be best to shut down the South Coast message board at Yahoo. This message board has been around for many years. For the most part it has not been used much. Other folks feel it best to keep it around as a life raft. It has served us well in that role several times. So I have not pulled the plug yet. I may wait several months to let the dust settle, and look at this again. The message board here and at SBO.com are not competing. As they are hosted by the same folks. The Yahoo message board is not a competing message board either. Anyone can set up a message board, usually for free. They can make just about any statement truth or fiction. It is the folks that CHOOSE to participate that makes the community. Not the person managing it. Wayne
