Finally got the wife on the boat.... That's rigth Sparky, she did it!!!!!
The Venture Yacht Club has an annual Shrimp Boil; so I desided to attend and asked Susan if she'd like to go with me... she said yes!!!! Then I asked if she'd like to try an overnight stay on the boat.... she said yes!!!!!!!!!!
My son and I dropped the boat in water Saturday morning. Susan and I sailed about 3 mile to Mariner's Cove and rafted up with about 7 other boats. Put all our potluck stuff in the dinghy and went ashore.
There were about 80 people from the club there and the food was GREAT... all the shrimp you could eat and a ton of other side diskes that others brought.
Well, we got our fill and I asked Susan if she'd like to try sailing for an hour or so.... she said yes!!!!!!!!!
We dinghy'd back to Blown Away, put all the stuff back on the boat and headed back into the major Mission Bay area. The wind was a steady 10 knots so we ended up sailing down Sail Bay, the channel to the ocean and then back around Fiesta Island to Enchanted Cove.
It was about 6:30 pm and we were the only boat in the cove.
After dropping the hook, we played some cards, snacked a lot, watched the SEa World fire works that were about 2000 feet from us and all this under a 1 day old full moon... and ay 65 degrees too.....
Got a pretty good night s sleep, got up the next day, made some breakfast, sailed for a few hours and then called my son to meet us back at the dock so he could help me load up the boat.
All in all, a GREAT weekend!
That my story and I'm stickin to it!
Dakman Living to sail, sailing to live....
