Mazzz,
Mentioned his keel banging around in heavy winds 20-30 mph or so.
Unfortunatly is is common occurance. It indicates the hole thru the keel for the keel pin has worn over the years. Mild steel keel and stainless steel keel pin, water & rust all work together.
The SC 22's often have a keel lock down pin. That may help reduce the wobble.
Not all SC 22's have the lock down. The Eclipse 6.7's did not come from the factory with lock down pins.
If the keel is wobbeling there may be another issue you need to be concerned about. Underneath the fiberglass cover that hides the keel pin is a collar with a set screw that holds the pin in place.
Years of wear & tear, water & rust can compromise this collar. There is one on each side and they are the only thing holding the pin in place other than gravity.
If you reach apoint where you can shut the boat down, you may wish to pull the keel and inspect everything.
It is not hard to do just bulky, 500lbs of steel is not easy to move.
