You might look at books like 'Feeling Good' by David Burns, the basic idea of cognitive therapy is that you write out all the things that you fear might go wrong, and then next to them you write down a calm rational response: Shrimp boat might hit me - They don't want to hit another boat, We're wearing life jackets and I have a radio, etc etc hope this helps
