Deer in the Yard

We frequently have deer in our yard. Generally, as long as we have a piece of glass separating us from them and make no sudden movements or noise, they are cautious, but they continue to graze. I was in the kitchen and looked out over our deck and a deer was in the yard. I was watching when I saw Sharon out on the deck. She had not noticed the deer. I was pointing and gesturing trying to get her attention. She finally came back into the house through the living room. After she got in the house I pointed out the deer, which was only about twenty feet away. They apparently have a very strong sense of danger. Even though they must have seen Sharon, it did not bolt. It must have realized that since she had not seen him, she was no threat.
