That is a lot of great advice here.
One day some time ago we went out and the chop was really bad. So we turned around and came back in. Flea came up and said that now you know you can handle it go farther. The next time it happened we were a long way from the slip and the chop was even worst than before. Now we know we can handle that.
We have all the safety gear, vhf and depth sounder. All my halyards and sheet are new and I have 3 anchors along with a dinghy.
Lisa is totally relaxed when on the boat and we never yell at each other. Depression and anxiety is something I don't get. Just nerves.
I visited with one of the CG guys about the shrimpers today. He told me to radio the shrimper and if I don't get a reply sound my horn. If I still have to get out of their way to call the CG on the vhf or cell and let them know. They will tear them up just are long as they are not fishing. They have had big problems with them in the past. Tankers have had to get out of the shrimpers way at times.
Like Charlie J said just go sail and have fun.
Again thank you all for helping me thru this and to know I'm not alone. David
