In Response To: Part I: Anchoring . . . . . (Charles Brennan, Windrose 18, So. Florida)

I should read further before I speak. After reading your first couple of sentences and looking at your first couple of photos, I was about to say, "Yes, dumbass, you can let the anchor GO from the cockpit, but you STILL have to go up on the frightfully heaving bow to retrieve the anchor when it is time to go home!!"

Then, I saw the photo that reveals your true genious: that line with that block on the end. Sacre bleu! Mon dieu! You are truly a man wise beyond his years. [And we're talking ALOT of YEARS, folks!!]

So, for 2007, to you, Charles Brennan, I am awarding the title of "Smartest Man in the World."

[Note: this title has been awarded to various title-holders, who, unfortunately, turned out to be "flashes in the pan."]
