Before I get to the Fox, first this. How cramped are you willing to be?
I have 2 sisters and a brother. My parents would take the bunch of us (6 total) out for multi-day trips on their Marshal Sanderling (18 foot catboat). It didn't bother them at all.
On the other hand, even though our Potter has a much larger cabin than the Sanderling, my wife can just barely tolerate multi-day trips with 3 of us aboard (2 adults and a 5 year old). She just likes more room to move around.
So, do you and your wife like being sardines?
For freestanding masts, there's the Seward Fox. This boat matches your requirements very well, but may be a bit tight in the cabin. Just one problem, the Sewards web site says the freestanding mast is no longer available. So, you would have to find a used one.

I hesitate to mention this for fear you will fall in love with too big of a boat, but you should look at the SeaPearl 28:

And what speed can you expect from a 16 - 22 foot boat? About 5 to 6 knots. This would be speed through the water. Of course, if you are tacking to windward, your speed to windward will be much less.
