WM, BoatUS, Sailnet all have help sections which will help you make your decision better than I. This was what I wanted: rechargeable battery that also works off of 12volt aux connection on the boat. Waterproof to some extent. Weather chnls. Auto scan 9,16, others, weather. Clarity of sound. Drop proof....OK maybe I'll settle for shock resistant for those times when it jumps out of it's cockpit storage location onto the floor. Check out the above web sites as they do a lot of explaining the features.
