Yep - thats the part I have on my boat. I too could keep 14v if I kept some load switched on such as some cabin lights. However once my battery reached 100% charge and I was not running any major load the voltage ran higher - I didnt really have the problem until I installed shore power with a battery charger which kept the battery fully charged. Then once I left the dock under power I was charging a fully charged battery. That allowed the voltage to rise to around 17v - other f31 owners with the same setup reported the same problem - my engine is a '98 9.9 high thrust Yamaha with electric start and long shaft. Most of the stuff I had on my boat didnt mind the 17v - it was the just the autopilot and stereo that had a problem. When I installed a gel cell I didnt want to risk it. I often motor for long periods 12 hours or more when cruising in BC or the Bahamas.
