Well, if half of us are sceptics and half of us are optimists, count me in the latter group. I like it when people try stuff like this out, and unless we actually hear from the owner, we'll not know how well engineered all this is and how it really performs (Turol says it 'moves along pretty good'). But if Roger is right on his speed estimate, and the owner kept his costs reasonable, then my hat is off to him, even if it took a ton of home labor (what boat project doesn't?). He's got something very unique at the least!
