Update: It works but more work needs to be done

Report: outside forum guidelines

I have adjusted the regulator and I can achive an idle, but it's a little rough

In addition because of other problems during Bench Testing I want to do a little more work before I proceed

(1)It's a "tight fit". Usually I can remove, clean and replace carburetor in 15 minutes. I even did this on back side the "C Dock" at BEER 2008. However, with the tight fit it takes more time and tools. The "Adaptor Donut" moves the air cleaner forward that intefers with the flyweel mounting bolt and engine cover.

(2) the idle is still "rough" and not like I think it "should be".

With the "tight fit" making it more difficult to remove and work on the carburetor I am thinking about my operational needs

Key to my thinking about is use of the liquid gas function of the multi fuel system. This system would mean the use of the liquid gas even less and it doesn't solve "dirty carb" problem. With my luck: when I would need it the most the "dirty carb" would not be reliable or availabe. Lack of use is one of the major contributing factors in "Tohatsu Diesease".

If the mulit fuel use is questionable, why go though the trouble, what are the alternatives.

I am thinking about my use of the boat:

(1) Good Weather not long distance daily sailing: Use the Torqeedo Electric

(2) Weather either is or could be worse but not multi day sailing: Use the Tohatsu on Propane

(3) Longer distance, multi day use, use the Tohatsu on liquid gas.

In order for the liquid gasoline to be reliable and to change between gaseous and liquid gas fuels conviently given the "space restrictions" I think the best option, given space considerations would be two carburators I could change easily.

Therefore, I am going to see how a "Type 3" Kit option works with a relatively easlily seperate standard caraburetor before I proceed to on the boat testing.

The kit has a more sophisticated regulator with a seperate "idle function" which should ensure a smother "idle"

Will keep ya'll updated on progress
